Simon M. Llanas Sr.

       Simon M. Llanas Sr., age 84, of Kenosha passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Simon was born on October 8, 1936 in Lockhart, TX to Bibiano and Paubla (Monreal) Llanas. He married Guadalupe “Lupe” Hernandez in Lubbock, TX on November 27, 1965. The couple moved to Kenosha in 1970. Simon worked for American Brass for many years until his retirement. He was very active at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Simon enjoyed crossword puzzles and especially spending time with his family.

        He was preceded in death by, his parents and siblings, Lutedio, Panteleon, Octavio, Martina, Francisca, Fernando and Frank.

        Simon is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Lupe; his son, Simon Jr. (Beth) Llanas; two daughters, Elizabeth (Rodney) Schuls and Alejandra (William Jr.) Barnhill; seven grandchildren, Jaelyn, Jasmin, Janae, William III, Reese, Ty and Alyssa (Brett); four great grandchildren, Jameson, Grace, Layla and Hendrix; six brothers, Ausencio, Macario, Roman, Juan, Gabriel and Bibiano Jr.; a sister, Daria Hernandez as well as other family and friends.

        A Mass of Christian Burial for Simon will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (7117 – 14th Avenue). The church asks that everyone attending please wear masks, practice social distancing and please come right into church and be seated for Mass.  A burial will immediately follow Mass at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
