Patricia L. Mangi

Patricia Lee Mangi (Eggert), the amazing, remarkable, and beautiful wife of Dr. Joseph Mangi for nearly 57 years, mother of three children T. Michael Mangi (Lisa), Aubrey Pauschert (Kelly), and Nicole Mangi Kramer (Michael), grandmother to five precious grandchildren Madeline, Brady, Jacob, Juliana and Vivien, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous and valiant battle with cancer on May 13, 2026 at the age of 80.

Patrica was born on May 8,1946 in Philadelphia, PA to Phyllis and Herbert Eggert Sr. She was the eldest of 8 siblings, Herbert R. Eggert Jr., Marihelen Barrett, Charles Michael Eggert, Amy Dougherty, Carol Eggert, Susan Eggert, and Margaret Spencer.

She graduated with a BA from the University of Delaware and earned a master’s degree in education from Antioch College in Ohio.

Pat and Joseph met at Antioch College while pursuing their master’s degrees. They were married on July 31, 1969, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Newark, Delaware. After teaching for 2 years in Baltimore, MD, they moved to Kenosha, WI in 1970. Patricia was employed by the Kenosha Unified School District as a French and Spanish teacher for over 25 years, teaching at Lincoln, Frank, Lance and Tremper High School. She enjoyed taking students on trips to Mexico, Spain, France, Costa Rica, Chile, and Peru.

Patricia was dedicated to a life of service. She was the language interpreter for mission trips to the Dominican Republic for over 10 years and volunteered at St. Mary’s Elizabeth’s Closet.

Patricia was a true Renaissance woman, smart, fluent in many languages, a world traveler, a lover of music, gardening, and art. She played guitar for St. Mary’s Church for many years and enjoyed attending hootenannies at Anderson Art Center. She loved hosting tea parties and spending summers at the Atlantic Ocean beaches of Rehoboth, Delaware with her family.

Patricia was the glue that held her family together. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose compassion touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.  More than anything, Patrica took the greatest joy in being a “Mimi” to her grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader and attended countless recitals, sporting events, and concerts. Patricia will be tremendously missed by her family. She was one of a kind and will always remain in the hearts of loved ones.

Donations made in Patricia’s honor to Elizabeth’s Closet at St. Mary’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie, her sisters and brothers, and Deacon Wilson Shierk for their wonderful loving support during this difficult time.

Services for Patricia will take place on Saturday, May 23rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (7307 40th Ave). Visitation will be held from 10 am – 12 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm.

Auntie Patty will be dearly missed. I have fond memories going back about as far as I can remember being at family get-togethers in Kenosha with her being such a loving, kind presence. I enjoyed her down-to-earth sense of humor and speaking Spanish with her after I began to learn it. She inspired me to keep with it and to do my own traveling in the U.S. and abroad. I miss her very much. My thoughts and condolences go out to Uncle Joe, Mike, Aubrey, and Nicole.

Joe- I was shocked this morning when I saw Pat’s obituary in the Kenosha News. I had no idea she was battling Cancer. I got to somewhat know her when she was at Tremper before I took early retirement for health reasons. She was a very nice person. I’m so sorry for your loss.
