Matthew Wakefield (1973 – 2012)

Matthew “Matt” Wakefield, age 38 a resident of Kenosha died Wednesday February 1st 2012 at the Kenosha Medical Center.

Matt was born on April 6, 1973 in Kenosha, Wis. to Gene and Kathy (Kutz) Wakefield. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. He loved his niece and nephew and enjoyed spending time with them. Matt loved animals of all kinds and was always a dog owner. He also enjoyed fishing, music and played the guitar. Matt was employed as an installer for a cellular maintenance company, by Albany-Chicago in Pleasant Prairie, and Cub Foods in Madison.

Matt is survived by his parents, twin sisters Marie (Steve) Janiak of Kenosha and Laura (Robert Kleczka) Wakefield of Kenosha, and niece and nephew–Megan and Joshua Janiak. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Mavis Wakefield of Pleasant Prairie. He is further survived by his dog, Dewey.

Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandmother and maternal grandfather.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 6th 2012 at 11a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church-Somers. (1520-Green Bay Road) Visitation with the family will be on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
