Martha Marano

Martha Jane (nee: Wallace) Servais Marano, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. She is now celebrating being with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Marty was born on February 16, 1934 in Brentwood, PA to Woods Lamp and Ida Belle Wallace. Her father’s career as an Engineer for the U.S. Navy Dept. resulted in Marty moving often throughout her childhood. Eventually settling in Kenosha, WI she graduated from Kenosha High School in 1951. In 1953, she married Dean Servais and together they had five children. They would later divorce. She found love again when God brought Guido Marano into her life and they married in 1979. She lived a full life filled with family, love and good health. She worked at Kohl’s grocery store for 26 years as assistant to the head cashier and retired in 1984. She was adventurous and never afraid of traveling. She once drove all five kids, under the age of 15, to California in her station wagon. Marty loved to winter in Florida, favoring St. Pete. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Marty was passionate about her relationship with Jesus and it was her love and faith in Him that kept her strong until He took her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guido, her parents, sisters Arla Williams and Shirley Campbell, and brother Ronald Wallace.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra Hook; her children, Mark Servais, Lynne (William) Brunner, Jeanne (Wayne Jones) Servais, Gayle (Gene) Flesch and Mary (Keith) Dorey; grandchildren Kyle, Jonathan, Matthew, Kristin, Jessie, Tracy, Kelly, Alicia, Katie, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Natalie; great grandchildren Ani, Tillie, William, Peter, Lucas and Mia; and her beloved dog, Mattie.

Marty’s life will be celebrated privately with her family. Thank you to Hospice Alliance for all their compassionate care given to our Mom, especially Regina and Julie. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice Alliance of Kenosha would be appreciated.
