John P. “Hook” Conwell, age 78 a resident of Kenoshadied Wednesday April 10th 2013 at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on June 25th 1934 inLadysmithWI, he was the son of the lateMilo and Helen (Kostka) Conwell.
He moved to IL in the mid 50’s and then to theKenoshaarea in 1962.
In 1957 he married JoAnn Bambrough. They would later divorce.
He was employed for many years at Eaton Dynamatic Corporation. Prior he also employed at JI Case and Nash Rambler.
He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Brewers and the Packers. He loved to play cribbage, billiards, bowling and golf; and participated in many area leagues.
He was a gifted woodworker and made various items for family members without even using plans. He also loved to ride motorcycles.
He is survived by two sons; Paul (Bonnie) Conwell of Kenosha; Brian (Tracy) Conwell of Mesa AZ; six grandchildren; Dameon, Danette, Amber (Tony), Amy (Donny) , Aarron (Katie), Taryn (Brett); twelve great grandchildren; Alice, Allieas, Adreyonna, Drew, Khloe, Holly, Cameron, Arabellah and Ivan, Destiny, Tanner, and Cayden; two brothers; Donnie (Alice) Conwell; Glenn Conwell; and one sister Frannie (Vern) West. He is further survived by his long time companion Sharon Kinnahan and her family; daughter Kim (Craig) Cantrell; and her children Steven (Amy) Cantrell and C Colin Cantrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Dawn; and two in infancy; Robin andMilo.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 16th 2013 at 5:00PM atWestoshaBaptistChurch. (35300 Basset Rd.,TwinLakes WI 53181.) Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday at the church from 4:00PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated and sent to Casey Family Options in the name of John P. Conwell.

Worked with John at Zion Industries Cookie Factory in the late 1950’s. Knew his brothers and his family.
Lost contact with him after that and have wondered about him many times.
One time, the family was somewhere up in Wisconsin and their car broke down. They called me and I went and brought them back to Zion. Eight of us in a ‘55 Ford 2 door sedan…plenty crowded, four in front , four in back!
Never ever saw Donnie or Glenn again either..hope their lives turned out well.
