Janet Ann (Drissel) Hamilton, 78, a resident of Somers, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in the comfort of her home with her son, Bob, at her side.
She was born in Kenosha, Wis., on Sept. 14, 1937, the daughter of the late Bernard and Bernice (Stollenwerk) Drissel. She was the oldest of five children and grew up at the family farm in Paris, Wis. Janet attended St John’s Grade School and St Mary’s High School, graduating in 1956. Janet was a lifetime member of St John’s Catholic Church in Paris.
On Sept. 4, 1965, she was united in marriage to Robert Hamilton Sr., who preceded her in death. They resided in Somers.
Janet enjoyed long rides in the country, spending time with her friends and family, particularly family get-togethers for holidays and other special occasions, and keeping up with current events by reading local papers. She was always available to help at St John’s, especially during her younger and healthier days.
Janet is survived by her son Robert Hamilton Jr. She is further survived by her sisters, Eileen (Richard) Doyle, Rita (Nickolas) Arnold; brothers, Loren (Pauline) Drissel, and Roger (Jann) Drissel; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29, at 11 a.m. with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. John’s Catholic Church in Paris, Wis. Burial at St. John’s Cemetery immediately following Mass.
