Reverend Myron L. Schwanke

In his infinite wisdom, our good and gracious Father called home the Reverend Myron L. Schwanke on June 24th, 2016 at the age of 73.

Myron was born September 6th, 1942 to Lawrence and Mildred (Wiese) Schwanke in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Watertown, Wisconsin to attend Northwestern Preparatory School and pursue a career as a Lutheran Minister. After graduating from high school he attended Northwestern College and finished his schooling at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin.

Myron’s first call was to serve a mission church on the Apache Indian Reservation in Peridot, Arizona, and he went on to serve two more parishes, St. John’s in Milton, Wisconsin and St. John’s in Baraboo, Wisconsin before retiring from public ministry.

Myron is survived by his mother, Mildred (Wiese) Schwanke, his two sisters Sandra Schultz and Cheryl (Dale) Henning, his two sons William (Carol) Schwanke and Michael Schwanke, his daughter Angela (John) Daniels and by his grandson Brandon Schwanke.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Rita (Mallow) Schwanke, whom he married on June 4th, 1966, and many other relatives and friends.

Myron will be missed but we rejoice that he is with the Lord and reunited with those who have gone before him. We will see him again.

A memorial service for Pastor Schwanke will be held on Tuesday June 28th, 2016 at 11:00AM at Bethany Lutheran Church (2100-75th Street Kenosha) with Pastor Pagel officiating. Visitation with the family will take place on Tuesday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethany Lutheran Church for the building of their new church would be especially cherished.
