Eugene Misurelli

Eugene O. Misurelli, 95, of Kenosha, died peacefully on Monday May 30, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Cosenza, Italy and was the son of Michael Misurelli and Josephine Turco. He came to live in the United States at the age of seven, and became a naturalized citizen.

He served his country in World War II as a corporal in the Army Aircorp; he was an airplane mechanic and received an honorable discharge. He married Mary A. Infusino on June 28, 1947 at Holy Rosary Church. He was employed by the Simmons Mattress Factory, and the Chrysler Automotive Corporation; where he worked until he retired. He had a wonderful work ethic and set a good example for both his children and grandchildren.

Eugene belonged to St. Mark Catholic Church and was a volunteer grounds keeper there for many years. He also often worked at the church fundraisers from set up to take down. He generously offered his assistance to anyone who needed it; all they had to do was ask. He practiced his religion faithfully and when in good health often attended mass daily. He was a devoted spouse and a loving father.

Kathy Finley was Eugene’s live in caregiver, and thanks to her expertise, compassion, advocacy, patience, and loving care made his final days bearable for all of us. Thank you so very much Kathy.

Eugene is survived by his five children, Josephine (Jack) Springer, Marilyn Neu, Michael (Jerl) Misurelli, Carol (Brian) Williams, and John (Jill) Misurelli; his nine grandchildren, James and Laura Springer, Carrie (Tony) Poling, Paul Misurelli, Joshua and Christopher Misurelli, Rhiannon (Andy) Tonies and Rich and Amelia Tobias; his eight great grandchildren, Anthony, Aaron, Austin, and Anika Poling, Lorelei and Cecelia Misurelli, Marcella and Benjamin Tonies. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Eugene was preceded in death by his spouse, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 3rd 2016 at 11:00AM at St. Marks Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th Avenue) Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until the time of mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
