Michael J. “Boychik” Hessing, age 68, of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Hospice Alliance’s Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Michael was born in Chicago on May 19, 1949 to the late William and Esther (Adler) Hessing. He worked as a route driver for A.W. Zengler Trucking before his retirement.
Michael loved the city of Chicago and was an enthusiastic fan of all its sports teams, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and Cubs. He was a kind, funny man who was easy to talk to and he knew how to make other people feel heard. He was very devoted to his sons and spent his final months in Kenosha to be close to them. He loved to joke around, play video poker, and he had an incredible sweet tooth for candy and treats.
He will be dearly missed by his two beloved sons Joseph Hessing and James Hessing and by his former wife and lifelong friend Janice Hessing. He is also survived by many family members and good friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother Paul.
Susan Gill says:
Hello,
I used to be Susie Rosen, and when I was a junior at Mather High School, Michael, a sophomore was my boyfriend, and my old best friend sent me his obituary. I am writing because I still remember how funny, gentle, and sweet he was, a real delight. I am sure he was a wonderful husband and father, and I am sorry for your loss.
