Vera A. Baer, age 98 a resident of Racine, slipped away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday November 3rd 2013.
Vera was born November 3, 1915 in Racine to the late James A. and Ethel M. (Rice) Wilson. She was educated in the schools of Racine and on April 11, 1952 she was united in marriage with Clarence R. “Weary” Baer. Vera was employed as a bookkeeper for Baer Cement Contractors.
Vera and her husband Weary enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling together. She also loved knitting, crocheting, ceramics and playing a good game of cards with friends.
Vera is survived by her daughter Susan Jensen and her daughter-in-law Karon Morse. She is further survived by five grandchildren; Dale Jensen, Terry (Bill) Lemmons, Dawn (Federico) Guzman, Ty Morse and Beth (Rich) Fandry, ten great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband Clarence R. “Weary” Baer, her son Ron Morse, her sister Ellen Uran and her brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Marge Wilson.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00AM on Saturday November 9th 2013 at the Westlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Visitation with the family will take place Saturday in the Westlawn Chapel from 9: 30 AM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorial to Heartland Hospice or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
