Roberta “Bobbie” K. (Young) Cross, formerly of Kenosha, late of Gulfport MS died March 26th 2013 at her residence.
On March 26, 2013 Jesus wrapped his arms around Bobbie and brought her home.
Bobbie was born 2-19-54 to Maynard and Katherine Young (who preceded her in death). She was named Roberta Katherine Young.
She was born and raised in Kenosha, WI and was educated in Kenosha schools St.Therese, Lincoln Jr. High and graduating from Tremper High School.
In her youth she enjoyed bowling and was on numerous jr. bowling leagues in town. She also loved to sing and was in choir at Lincoln and Tremper. During the summer she enjoyed swimming and playing in the back yard with family and friends.
On June 6, 1987 she married the love of her life Stanley Cross. The two of them went from Naval base to Naval base finally being stationed in Mississippi where they decided to call home.
Bobbie loved the area. Close to New Orleans so she could go to Mardi Gras. And right down the road she had her casinos. She loved to gamble with or without Stanley.
Together Bobbie and Stanley survived hurricane Katrina losing everything they owned. But they loved their home and returned when things were rebuilt.
She held down different jobs during her life. She was always proud that she never needed a handout and worked hard to get what she had. Up to the time of her death she worked for Wal-Mart.
Bobbie enjoyed floral arranging. And she collected anything that had to do with dachshunds. Her favorite color was purple.
Bobbie was the oldest of four girls. Jacalyn (Jacky) Young, Baltimore MD. Jeralyn (Jerrie Young) Koch and Antoinette (Tonie) Young both of Kenosha. She also is survived by a close and dear friend of the family Howard N.Morris from Gainsville FL.
She was also a wonderful Aunt. She leaves behind a niece, Kimberly Koch, and 3 nephews Robert (her godchild), Brandon and Stephen Koch.
Bobbie could make friends anywhere and you would always be her friend. When she laughed or smiled her whole face lit up and she had a warm and loving heart. Her memories will be with us forever and her love will always be in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 11th 2013 at 5:00PM at the Kemper Center in Founders Hall. (6501-3rd Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Thursday April 11th 2013 in Founders Hall from 3:00PM until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.

Ronald Taleronik says:
Bobbie and AI knew each other in high school at Tremper in Kenosha, Wisconsin and shared many wonderful times together. She always had a smile on her face, never judged anyone, forgave you for your mistakes in life and had a vibrant spirit that was transferred to everyone to make a gloomy day be filled with sunshine. I send my condolences to her family and friends.
