Patricia A. DeLuisa, age 77 formerly of Kenosha, late of Wheatland, died Friday February 20th, 2015, at Manor Care in Kenosha.
Patricia was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 1st, 1937, to Edwin and Claudia (Lux) Gehl. She was educated at Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Divine Savior High School in 1955. Patricia continued her education at St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Wausau, WI, graduating in 1958 as a Registered Nurse.
While at nursing school she met her husband, Phillip, and they were united in marriage on June 6th, 1959, at Holy Redeemer Parish in Milwaukee. They started their married life in Milwaukee. In 1973, they moved to Kewaskum, WI. After six years there, the family moved to Kenosha in 1979. They raised six wonderful children together and were married 44 years at the time of his death in 2003. Patricia was employed by Kenosha Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish and loved to crochet, knit and do crafts.
Patricia is survived by her children; Patricia (James) Tutas of Kenosha, Peter (Rachel) DeLuisa of Elkhorn, Anthony (Amber) DeLuisa of Kenosha, Edwin DeLuisa of Milwaukee, Paul DeLuisa of Wheatland and, as well as her grandchildren; Alex, Jasmine, Raphael and Gabriel DeLuisa, Taylor Dawson, Melanie, Payton and Everett Taylor. She is also survived by her brothers David (Susan) Gehl of Mt. Horeb, WI, and Paul (Patricia) Gehl of Cape Coral, FL.
Preceding Patricia in death were her parents, her husband Phillip DeLuisa Sr., her son Phillip DeLuisa Jr., her brother, Edwin (Mickey) Gehl Jr., and her sister Phyllis Hibl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 28th 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Peters Catholic Church. (2224-30th Avenue) Visitation will take place on Friday, February 27th 2015 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Kenosha Woman’s Club, (6028-8th Avenue; across the street from Library Park) and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of mass. Private burial will take place on Monday March 2nd, 2015, at St. George Catholic Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Seema Khan, the Manor Care Nursing Home Staff and the people at Hospice Alliance for their kindness and care of Patricia. Thanks also to Fr. Ireneusz Chadakowski and Fr. Bill Hayward for their prayers and blessings.
In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
