Pablo Castro Escribano passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 14th, 2023. He is survived by his son Pablo (Diana) Escribano, daughter Erica (Nicolas) Guzman, and six beautiful grandchildren he loved more than anything (Nadia, Natalie, Viviana, Elysa, Iliana, and Araceli). He is preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years Isabel Chavela Escribano, his mother Juana, and some of his beloved siblings.
Pablo was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico where he was one of thirteen children. He grew up playing baseball and loving everything about the sport. He joined the Army and earned an Honorable Discharge in December of 1965. He moved to Illinois in his early twenties where he met his future wife and spent over 35 years as an assembler for Liquid Controls. In retirement, Pablo, affectionally known as Abuelo to family, loved to ride around Kenosha on his scooter and spend every penny he had on local businesses. He loved off track horse betting and lottery scratch cards. Abuelo will leave a void as the soft-spoken man with a heart of gold will be missed by all that had the pleasure of spending time with him.
Abuelo’s final wishes were to not have any sort of ceremony after death and the family has and will honor that. There will be a celebration of his life’s accomplishments with family and friends in the spring.
