Neal Larsen

Neal J. Larsen, age 77, a resident of Kenosha, passed away on Friday February 26th 2016 at his home.

Neal was born on May 14th, 1938 to Louis S. and Elenora C. (Knattrup) Larsen in Kenosha. He graduated from Bradford High School. Neal proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 until 1961 as an Electrician’s Mate 3rd Class. On December 2, 1972, he was united in marriage with Sharon Holeton in Kenosha.

Retiring from AMC/Chrysler after 30 years, Neal liked to stay active. He was a member of Danish Brotherhood #14, Moose Lodge #286, the NRA, Pheasants Forever and the Wisconsin Trappers Association. He and his family were members of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church.

Neal’s talents and interests were numerous.  He was an avid outdoorsman, pursuing his  passions of hunting and fishing in various parts of the US as well as Canada.  In addition to hobbies,  Neal was well known for his craftsmanship and fabrication skills.  Those that knew him had confidence in his ability to build or repair almost anything, and often called upon him to do so.  His family was his biggest priority, relishing time spent together in leisure as well as work projects.

Neal is survived by his wife Sharie of Kenosha and by their children James (Catherine) Larsen of Kenosha, Gary (Karie) Larsen of Tieton, Washington, Corinne Marshall of Racine, Dennis (Cyndee) Wickert of Burlington, Charlene (Harry) Moore of Kenosha and Dianna (John) Kaiser of Racine. He is further survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren as well as by his sister Arlene (Mark) McNab of Albany Oregon.

Preceding Neal in death were his parents and his son-in-law Tim Marshall.

A memorial service will be held on Monday February 29th 2016 at 11:00AM at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Kenosha.(2313-17th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be held on Monday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of services. Burial will take place at a later date at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to either Holy Nativity Lutheran Church or to the family would be appreciated.
