Michelle Caplice

Michelle Ann Caplice, born August 27th, 1967, returned to Heaven on June 6th, 2026, at the age of 58. She is survived by her three children, Timothy William Caplice, Lilly Ann Caplice, and Charles Alexander Caplice. She also lives on in the hearts and minds of the numerous lives she touched and changed during her time with us.

Michelle was a proud mother of three children she loved more than anything. She sacrificed sleep and comfort, and would work night shifts so she could be a present parent during the days, ensuring her kids knew that she would always be there for them. She loved spending time with her family in any and every way. One of her favorite things to do was play dice and card games. Many can attest to her screaming YAHTZEE and cheering loudly, no matter who was winning. She supported her children’s numerous extracurricular activities, attending little league games and working in concession stands for years with a smile on her face and yelling louder than any other parent on the field.

Michelle was an incredibly gifted operating room nurse. She adored her job and the opportunity to be of service to others. In the workplace, she was known to be reliable, passionate, diligent, and very fun. The doctors and nurses who had the privilege of sharing an operating room with her saw first-hand her incomparable work ethic and incredible nursing, along with her ability to create a sense of joy and brightness in the room through her jokes, dancing, and singing.

Michelle loved 70’s light rock, and everyone who knew her knew this fact. Outside of the operating room, she was a gentle, steady presence for her patients and her friends and family.

Michelle was a humanitarian. In addition to her work as a nurse, she had regularly put her skills to use volunteering in impoverished areas of the world. She was involved in numerous medical volunteer trips to Guatemala, Kenya, and Rwanda, where she committed her love and talent for medicine to providig access to healthcare and medical support to countless indiviudals who would have otherwise been unable. At home, Michelle would always bake extra turkey and other food during Thanksgiving to distribute it among those less fortunate, in addition to routinely donating extra clothes and blankets.

Michelle had an incredible zest for life. After her children went to college, she used her extra time to travel, making incredible new memories in her later years. Her personality was magnetic, making lifelong friends after a single conversation in an airport. During this time of her life, she visited places like Greece, Belize, and Spain embracing one of her most cherished beliefs. She believed in making the most of our time, not concerned with things that might be embarrassing or difficult. Her philosophy in life was to enjoy as much of it as she could, and to connect with others while doing it.

Michelle’s legacy is one of love. Her love for others, her children, her friends and the world. She leaves a piece of herself behind in all of our hearts and while we mourn her passing, we are eternally grateful for the time we got to spend with her. In life she was always adamant about enjoying our time here and so she leaves us with her most important advice about how to go on without her: Just Dance.
