Melvin J. Deschler, age 71, a resident of Kenosha, passed away suddenly after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday April 21st, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center.
Melvin was born on October 24, 1941in Racine to Edward P. and Louise E. (Putman) Deschler. He attended the schools of Racine and Kenosha and on August 19, 1978, he was united in marriage with Rhonda Gray.
Mel was employed as a laborer and in landscaping and then in 1970, he started working as a motor vehicle operator for the State of Wisconsin at Southern Wisconsin Center. He retired in January of 1998 after 27 years.
Mel will be best remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and for his love and dedication for his children and family. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed travel, watching sports and working outside, but mostly he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving Mel are his beloved wife Rhonda, his son Matthew (Kelli) Deschler, his three granddaughters Natalie, Gabriella and Aubrey, borrowed granddaughter Zoe Ebner, his brother James and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-son Lucas Anderson.

In accordance with Mel’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Private interment will happen at a later date.
