Mary H. Mowry

Mary Helen (Beers) Mowry, age 89, passed away at Aurora Kenosha on Friday, March 27th 2026.  

Born June 21st, 1936, to parents Joseph and Mary Beers, Mary spent her early life in Beaver Dam. She attended schools in Beaver Dam, graduating from Beaver Dam High School. She then graduated from Kenosha School for Practical Nurses in 1955.

 She married the love of her life Douglas Mowry on October 5th, 1957, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Beaver Dam, and the two relocated first to Elgin, Illinois before settling in Kenosha in 1959. They became members of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church until its closing in 2000 and after were members of St. Therese Catholic Church until her death.

Mary and Douglas were blessed with three wonderful children: Michael, Sharon, and Scott. She was a devoted mother and was very involved in her children’s lives.

Mary worked for Society’s Assets, and as an LPN for Kenosha Memorial Hospital and St. Catherine’s Hospital. She was involved in a variety of extracurricular activities like the Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts at Columbus Elementary, PTA member and Room Mother, Kenosha Band Boosters, Band of the Black Watch Chaperone, Kenosha Home Makers, and Bowling League.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Douglas (March 12th, 2008), her brother and sister-in-law John and Charlene (Mowry) Meier, niece Kimberly, and nephew Rich.

She is survived by her children Michael (Janice) Mowry of Kenosha, Sharon (John) Daszczuk of Brookfield, and Scott (Rena) of Kenosha; her siblings Robert (Frieda) Beers of Box Elder SD, Janice (Richard) Cromheckee of Beaver Dam, and Joseph (Shari) Beers of Plymouth; Grandchildren Douglas J. (Dana) Daszczuk of Highland Park IL, Sarah Daszczuk of Brookfield, Lisa (Nick) Pugh of Mt. Pleasant, Caren (Josh) Jorgensen of Appleton, Sara (Jon) Bradley of Kenosha, and Nicholas (Mary) Mowry of Kenosha; great-grandchildren Sonya, Vayla, Aurora, Leo, Samuel, Declan, Danica, Eleanor, Liliana, and Luke.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Thursday, April 9th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church (9091 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie) at 11am. Visitation with the family will take place from 9:30 until the time of the Mass. She will be laid to rest at St. George Catholic Cemetery next to her beloved husband immediately following Mass.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Robin Way Assisted Living, her friends and her special team there, and to Dr. Rocco for his years of dedicated care.
