Mary Ellen Petersen, 70, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on December 17, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her family at her side.
Mary was born on May 10, 1946 in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Ralph and Marian (Bradley) Hildebrandt. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha graduating from St. Joe’s High School. She was employed at Fairey Arlon as a secretary and at United Hospital System on the switchboard. She retired in 2008 and often said it was the best thing she did.
Mary enjoyed going to rummage sales, puttering in the yard, listening to music, specifically Bruno Mars, watching the Green Bay Packers, and going out to eat with her family or friends. She was especially close with her grand and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Amy (Don) Borden of Kenosha, Jack Petersen of Sarasota, Florida, and Scot Petersen of Kenosha; her six grandchildren, Matthew Petersen, Blake and Zachary Borden, Paige Petersen and Isabella and Abigail Petersen; two great grandchildren, Matthew Jr. and Autumn Petersen; one sister, Elaine Hildebrandt and one brother, Keith Hildebrandt; many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were private at Mary’s request.
