Louis Sherman

Louis Sherman, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Beloved husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be missed.
Louis was born in Racine on January 31, 1939, to Louis and Mildred (Schieble) Sherman. He served as a Sergeant in the Army Reserves. On January 14, 1978, he married Ann Veleke and they moved to Kenosha.
Louis was a familiar face to many as the owner of RK News with his wife Ann. They ran the bookstore and Hallmark shop until their retirement in 2003. Louis enjoyed sports and Nascar as well as word search puzzles, but his favorite past time was playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Louis is survived by his wife Ann of Kenosha and by his daughters, Linda (Wilson) Anderson, Laura (Dale) Jorgensen, Louisa Coons and Leanna Southerland, all of Tennessee, as well as his step daughters Lynn (Ray) Pehlivan and Terry Fisher of Kenosha. He is further survived by his grandchildren Tammy (Brandon), Jessica, Tyanna, Stephanie, Blake (Ashley), Devon (Rick), Isabella, Zoe, Paul (Ajnur), Naim, Sabrije, Sabrina (Amy), Keith, and Jim, as well as his great grandchildren Ashlyn, Caidyn, Ryleigh, Christopher, Lyla, Aubree, Levi, Nathan, Alana, Jasin, Mason and Rylan. Louis is also survived by his two brothers Thomas (Tallie) Sherman of Racine and Jim (Andrea) Sherman of California.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
Before his death, Louis left a special message that he wished to share after his passing. “I thank my wife Ann for all her love and understanding through the very good times and the bad. I loved her and was always happy with her. I appreciated her so very much with her qualities for life and for love.”
In accordance with Louis’s wishes, private services were held.
