Lino Vasquez

Lino Vasquez, age 72, passed away on January 12th, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 4th, 1948 to the late Ysabel Davila and Catalino Vasquez. Lino served in the Army during the Vietnam war from 1968 to 1970. In 1983 Lino moved to Kenosha from San Antonio, Texas. On February 14th, 1993 he married Gregoria Vasquez and remained married until the time of his death. He worked for Frantal Nursery for 20 years but then later retired.  

Lino was an avid lover of sports but was especially a Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed fishing, crafting, and collecting watches. His most joyful time, however, was whenever he spent time with his beloved grandchildren, they were his pride and joy.

Lino is survived by his wife, sons: Vicente Vasquez (WI), Rene Vasquez (WI), and Gilbert Martinez (TX), daughters: Lisa (Juan) Cruz (WI), Valoree Vasquez (TN), grandchildren: Alyzah Cruz (WI), Antonio Cruz (WI), Mary Jane Cruz (WI), Maricella Cruz (WI), Madison Vasquez (TX), Frances Jimenez (TX), Sara Jimenez (TX), Gabriella Martinez (TX), Aubree Martinez (TX), and Cata Martinez (TX), brothers: Lupe (Chris) Vasquez (WI), Martin (Lupe) Vasquez (WI), Tony (Maria) Vasquez (IL), Roger (Chavela) Vasquez (TX), sisters: Janie (Jose) Adrian (MI), Inez Vasquez (WI), Patsy (Ralph) Castillo (WI), Tomasa Salinas (TX), and Chris Hernandez (WI). He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Isabel Vasquez.

Services for Lino will include a visitation at the Woman’s Club of Kenosha on Monday January 18th from 9:30 to 11:30, with a Mass at St. Mark’s Catholic Church directly following. The burial will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery directly following mass.

The family would like the especially thank Juan Cruz for his time and efforts in making the funeral arrangements, also thank you to those who assisted with the financial costs.

    Sorry me and my immidiate family couldn’t be there for the funeral. We are coming back to the country soon where we will pay our respects.
