Leigh C. Padgett (Allen)

September 13, 1956 – March 19, 2026

Leigh C. Padgett (Allen) passed away on March 19, 2026. Leigh was the kind of person you didn’t necessarily notice right away—until you did. She wasn’t one to put on a show for a room full of people, but if you were lucky enough to be in her circle, you knew she was funny, sharp, and capable of dropping one perfectly timed comment that could leave everyone laughing.

Leigh was born on September 13, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and later grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She attended school in Kenosha and graduated from Kemper Hall in 1974. Bright, determined, and not afraid of doing things the thorough way, Leigh began her college journey at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before completing her accounting degree at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside in Kenosha. She built a career that reflected her intelligence, attention to detail, and steady work ethic.

After college and entering the workforce, Leigh met the love of her life, Jeffrey Padgett, in 1982. They married on April 8, 1984, in Kenosha and soon set their sights on Dallas, Texas. Leigh worked as an accountant at Blue Cross Blue Shield while Jeff built his remodeling business. Together they welcomed their daughter, Maggie Warren, and built a life in Dallas filled with family and hard work.

In 2000, Leigh, Jeff, and Maggie returned to Kenosha. Leigh and Jeff amicably divorced in 2001 and went their separate ways, showing that life’s changes don’t always have to come with bitterness. And in true “life has a sense of humor” fashion, the two eventually found their way back to one another. They reunited, rekindled their love, and remarried on July 3, 2025. Though their time together again was far too short, it was meaningful and full of the love that had clearly never gone away. Jeffrey passed away on November 10, 2025.

Leigh was big on first impressions—and hers usually came with a bit of mystery on purpose. If you didn’t know her well, you might have thought she was quiet, guarded, or unimpressed, which, to be fair, she often was. The people who earned their way in discovered a sharp, dry wit and a talent for delivering comments so understated and perfectly timed they often landed a beat late—then hit hard. Leigh didn’t waste words, didn’t suffer fools, and had no interest in performing for approval. But once you were in her circle, her loyalty was absolute.
She enjoyed life the way she liked it: the beach, sunbathing, trips to the casino (always optimistic about the next slot machine), long walks and lunches with family and friends, and the occasional round of golf—mostly tolerated for the company, never for the score.

Above all else, Leigh treasured being Grandma. Her granddaughter, Kyleigh, was the absolute joy of her life. Whether sharing laughter-filled days or quiet moments together, that time meant everything to Leigh, and she embraced the role with pride and endless love.

Leigh is survived by her daughter, Maggie Warren; her son-in-law, Matthew Warren; and her beloved granddaughter, Kyleigh. She is also survived by her sister, Holly Stoddard (Allen), and brother-in-law Rick Stoddard, along with several nieces and nephews who will carry her memory with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Padgett; her mother, Margery Cecil (Allen); her father, John Allen; and her sister, Roberta Allen Holm.

Leigh will be remembered for her sharp mind, her dry humor, and the quiet, steady way she loved the people in her life. And if she were here now, she’d smile, laugh, and say, “Okay… now get out!”

Funeral services for Leigh will be held on April 11th, 2026 at Kemper Center Founders Hall (6501 3rd Ave. Kenosha WI 53143) visitation will begin at 3:00pm with the service following at 4:30pm.
