Lance Moon

Lance Moon, son of Lance Moon, Sr., and Sharanne Moon-Bridges, was born on September 14, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life on December 18, 2025.

He received his early education in the Waukegan Public School System and his high school diploma from Saint Joseph High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school, he pursued football at Western Kentucky University. Lance completed his Associate of Arts degree in physical education at the College of Lake County. He continued pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Studies by attending the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and Eastern Illinois University.

Not only was Lance a dedicated, avid sports fan, but he also knew everything about most sports and the individual players, showcasing his deep passion. Lance was a natural in all sports: baseball, basketball, and especially football. He would literally try out for and pursue any sport, and he would excel at it. Lance was a starting sophomore on St. Joseph’s 1994 State Championship team. They won, thanks in part to his contributions. This was just one of the highlights of his high school career.

Several major companies employed him, including the Waukegan Park District, the City of Waukegan, and an Energy and Engineering Consulting Service through Great Lakes, Illinois. He specialized as a Commercial HVAC installer, demonstrating his technical skills. Lance also had the unique opportunity to play professional football, signing and competing as a running back and kickoff return specialist for a German Football Team in Germany, highlighting his athletic versatility.

While attending Saint Joseph High School, he met the love of his life, Theresa Mikus. Their connection was immediate, and they remained a couple throughout college. Their bond grew stronger over the years, culminating in their marriage in 2008, a testament to their enduring love.

The favorite part of Lance’s day was spending time with his wife, Theresa, and puppies Chico & Stormi. He absolutely loved being a husband. Lance had an extremely close relationship with his immediate family and with his in-laws. He enjoyed speaking with his mother and mother-in-law multiple times a day. Lance loved to workout, travel, make instrumental beats, go to the Milwaukee Bucks games, and wear anything Puma. He also loved trying out anything new, from foods to different adventures, and he tried to get everyone else to try it as well. Lance was known as the “Dog Whisperer” because he often rescued dogs and would later find them good homes.

He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Lance leaves behind his lovely wife, Theresa; his mother, Sharanne; his father, George; his mother-in-law, Sherry; his sisters, Tonya, Jazmin (Marc), and Nicole; his brothers, George (Tami), Demetrius, and Vernon (Meggan); his sisters-in-law, Carrie (Myron), Nicole (Joseph), and brother-in-law Paul. His nieces, Mari (His God-Daughter), Alaina, Alysia, Teagan, Taylin, Deja, Hydeia, Devyn, Naomi, Aaliana, Wisdom, Milan, London, Sydney; and nephews, Myron Jr., Trey, George III., Paris, Dominique, Tye, Tyse, Gabriel, Adriaan, Blaze, and Jax (who called him his favorite uncle), many cousins, and his “Framily”. Lance, affectionately known as “Bubba,” touched many lives in his community and extended family.

Lance was preceded in death by his father, Lance Sr., his father-in-law, Clarence, all of his loving Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles.
