Julia Caroline Covelli, 95 of Kenosha passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family.
Julia was born April 12, 1920 in Kenosha to the late Simone and Amelia (Asta) Costanzo. Julia was a lifelong resident, educated in local schools, graduating from Mary D. Bradford in 1938.
On August 17, 1940 she married Bennie J. Covelli, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, celebrating 68 years of marriage. Julia worked at Jockey International, then Coopers Factory, in the sewing room, retiring in 1982 from the shipping department.
Julia’s life revolved around her family and Bennie’s sporting schedules. She loved cooking and feeding her guests around the kitchen table, insisting you have something to eat. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as those special nieces and nephews that popped in anytime of the week.
Julia leaves her son, Bernie to morn her death, along with his daughter Juliane Robinson, her children Mary and John. In addition Julia leaves a brother Paul (Ann) Costanzo of Kenosha and brother- in- law Guy DiBella of Chicago.
Morning her death also are her grandchildren, Richard Covelli, his children Jes Scheel, Crystal Johnson, Joe and Nick Covelli as well as Rick’s grandchildren and great grandchildren; a granddaughter Jennifer Covelli, her children Chris and Kaitlyn; Todd’s daughter Brittany Covelli (Frank Alfano) and Juliana and Frankie; granddaughter Julie Covelli, her children Rylan and Roman, and granddaughter Jamie Covelli; as well as many loving nieces and nephews that found Aunt Julia’s arms and love big enough for all.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bennie, son Kelly, grandson Todd Covelli, along with sisters Rosemary Stella and Gloria DiBella.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 7 at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9am until time of the mass at 11 am. Burial will follow the mass at St. James cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
Julia’s family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and medical staff of Kenosha Memorial Hospital’s ER and 8th floor; in addition to the Gentiva home health care and hospice’s compassionate care given her.
