Judy (Jytte) M. Smith, 86, of Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin, passed away on May 30th, 2026 at her residence.
Judy was born on October 2nd, 1939, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Rose Simonsen and Hans Simonsen. She attended local schools in Copenhagen before moving to Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1965. It was there that she met the love of her life, Richard Smith, at his grocery store, and together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and community.
Judy was known for her kindness, humor, generosity and unwavering devotion to her family. She found joy in making desserts, solving crossword puzzles, watching mystery and western television shows, and listening to Elvis Presley. Some of her happiest moments were spent with family, vacationing in Door County, and participating in the Danish Brotherhood at the Knights of Columbus.
She is survived by her children, Boyd Smith, Susan Smith and Michael Smith (Michelle Gunderson); her 13 grandchildren and her 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory and the love she shared throughout her life.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard Smith, and her son John Smith.
Judy was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service for Judy will be held on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at 6:00pm at Kemper Center Founders Hall. (6501 3rd Avenue Kenosha WI) Visitation with the family will be in Founders Hall from at 4:00pm until the time service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smith family.

Gail Larsen Casey says:
I extend my sincere sympathy to the family. I’ve known Judy for a long time and Dick even longer. We attended their wedding reception in Boyd and Viola’s house and then we were neighbors. Many good memories!
F. Simonsen says:
In loving memory.
Our deepest condolences,
Your brother Freddy and family in Denmark
