Joseph A. Burt, age 86, a resident of Kenosha, died Monday November 23rd 2015 at his home surrounded by the people who loved him.
Joseph was born September 9th, 1929 in Mississippi to Benjamin and Essie (Cox) Burt. He moved to Kenosha as a young man and proudly served his country during World War II as a Military Police Officer in the Army, stationed in Germany.
On August 15th, 1950, he married Betty Schaller in Waukegan Illinois. They made their home in Kenosha where Joe worked at American Motors as a die setter. He retired in 1981, after 31 years with AMC.
Joe took great pride in his skills as a handyman. He loved working on cars and really enjoyed bird watching.
Surviving Joe are his loving wife of 65 years, Betty of Kenosha, and his children, Wade (Christine) Burt, Kevin Burt, Steve (Sue) Burt, all of Kenosha and Theresa Huth of Caledonia. He will be missed by his grandchildren Justa, Joe, Lisa (Joe) Morelli and Jessica and by his great grandchildren, Ryan, Auston and Naomi.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and by all ten of his siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 30th 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Kenosha. (7117-14th avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Monday at the church from 10:00AM until the time of services.
