John L. “Jack” Donais (1928-2015)

Jack Donais

John L. “Jack” Donais, age 87, a resident of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday November 25th, 2015 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie with his family at his side.

Jack was born April 24th, 1928 in Mellen Wisconsin to Aldophe and Katherine (Reiter) Donais. They moved to Kenosha in 1929, and he attended St. James Catholic School and then Vocational School. Jack started working at Nash Motors in 1944 at the age of 16, and worked continually until retiring from Chrysler in 1990.

On July 3rd, 1948, he was united in marriage with Merlyn Covington at St. James Church. Jack and his bride were married for 67 years. They belonged to St. Therese Catholic Church.

Surviving Jack are his wife Merlyn, and his children, Thomas (Diane) Donais, Timothy (Lisa) Donais, Joseph Donais and Lisa (Greg) Winter as well as his grandchildren Michael (Ania) Donais, Kevin Donais, Steven (Jess) Donais, Evan Winter, Adam Winter and Emily Winter and one great grandchild Zavier with another on the way. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Ted and by a sister Ursaline Ferguson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jack will be held on Tuesday December 1st at 11:00AM at St. Therese Catholic Church (2020-91st Street). A time for visiting with the family will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of services. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shalom Center would be appreciated by the family.
