John Ventura, age 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, John was married to the love of his life, Mary Kay Ventura, for 55 years, building a life grounded in family, faith, and steadfast commitment.
John enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Abbott, from which he retired in 2012. He valued the relationships he built through his time there.
He was the proud father of Jamie Gilliam (Jason), Susie Ventura (Ryan), and Frank Ventura (Tina), and a loving grandfather to Lauren Gilliam, Carmelina Ventura, and Gino Ventura, each of whom brought him immense joy.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Domenic Ventura; his father-in-law, Frank Bisciglia; his mother-in-law, Carmelina Bisciglia; his brothers, James Ventura and Donald Ventura; and brother-in-law, John Hendrickson; and sister-in-law, Donna Ventura.
In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, John is survived by his siblings and extended family, including Mary Joy Hendrickson, Thomas (Marie), Joanne (Frederick) Czeswik, Kathleen (Richard) Rose, Joseph (Veronica), Michael (Stacy), and William; his brother- and sister-in-law, Nello and Terry Buratti; who will remember him with love and respect.
John was a man of quiet strength, loyalty, and generosity. He valued hard work, humility, and above all, family. He especially cherished time spent hunting and fishing with his brothers, creating lifelong memories rooted in companionship, tradition, and the outdoors.
His greatest pride was his family, and his legacy lives on through them.

David Bisciglia says:
John was older than me but I’ll always remember as a very young guy many years ago being around him and how he always made me feel like a part of his group. At the time I distinctly remember it giving me such a comforting sense of belonging that has stayed with me all these years later. A lesson he taught me that has definitely played a part in my life.

Mary Kay and family, I so very sorry for your loss. What a surprise. I enjoyed each time you both stopped to talk as you drove by. That was so kind of him to always ask how my family was. Such a nice guy gone to soon. Sending hugs love and prayers to all of you.
