Jeffrey A. Nyberg

Jeffrey A Nyberg, aka Chuck and Knucklehead, 68, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away on October 7th,
2025.

Jeff was born on April 25th, 1957, in Kenosha to Fred and Eleanore Nyberg.
He attended Tremper High School, class of 1975. He retired from Abbott Labs after over 20 years, and before that, he worked at ComEd Zion Nuclear Plant for over 20 years in mechanical maintenance.

Jeff married Cindy on June 7th, 1985, in Las Vegas, and was a devoted father to their son Eric. Jeff lived
his life his way; he lived it to the fullest and he had a blast. The stories of which he was the prime mover
and the ones in which he merely took part are too numerous to recount but will be told long into the
future. His favorite hobby was darts, and he was a fixture around boards in town for the majority of his
life. He won the State Dart Tournament and placed 3rd in the World Dart Tournament. He enjoyed the
game immensely, but what he enjoyed more were the friends he made through it over the years.

He was always busy, particularly after he retired. He was an avid golfer, going almost every chance he had if the weather was good and sometimes when it wasn’t. He also liked to bowl, on some Thursdays up to 3
times a day. He was fond of saying that retirement wasn’t for the weak; typically, it seemed as a family
member was getting ready to leave the house for work in the morning.

When he wasn’t doing these things, he could be found spending time with his friends or doing various projects around the yard. But what he loved most of all was spending time with his wife, Cindy and son Eric. He was always there when needed, without fail. If he didn’t say it every day, he said it every other day, “I love my life!”

Jeff is survived by his wife Cindy Nyberg, son Eric Nyberg, sisters Lisa (Jim) Ruffolo, Kris (Larry) Weiss,
Nancy (Kent) Becker, and brother Dan (Rachel) Nyberg. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Betty
Hubbard, sisters-in-law Barb (Tim) Vanderhoef and Jean (Bob) Hamilton, as well as the best ever nieces
and nephews!

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Fred and Eleanore Nyberg, his father-in-law Donald
Hubbard, and brother-in-law Ken Wilbik.

Visitation will be held on October 17th, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at old Bethany on 22nd and
75th, with a memorial service to be held at 3:00 pm with Pastor Pagel officiating.

To the entire family of Jeff, we are deeply sorry for your loss and you all have our deepest sympathies. Personally I have known Jeff since he was little as I was his babysitter. And boy oh boy could I tell you the stories on what Jeff did and tried to teach his sisters and brother. But Jeff was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him. Jeff did live life to the fullest and always made us laugh. Jeff holds a special place within our hearts. We are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers as you all deal with your loss. Jeff, knew his Lord and Savior and now he is wrapped in Jesus loving arms. Rest in peace our dear Jeff. You are sadly missed! 🙏♥️🙏♥️

  • So sad to hear about Jeff’s passing. Sending hugs and my deepest sympathy to Cindy and Eric and Jeff’s siblings. He was my brother Jeff’s friend since grade school and I have a lot of fun and fond memories of Jeff. He was such a wonderful support to my brother’s family and to my Mom when when my brother Jeff passed away. It is a comfort to know that Jeff is safely in Heaven with His Savior Jesus, his parents, and my brother Jeff.

  • Oh Jeff, I am sorry that you had to leave too soon but certainly grateful that you checked out on your own time, in your own way. I do regret that we only talked about getting together at R&R or the like with JR. Both of you guys had the richest recall of anyone I’ve ever worked with. Once the stories started flying they just went on for hours, just as our phone calls – didn’t end ’til our smiles hurt. We all were part of some very interesting times, weren’t we. Thank you Jeff for putting so many laughs in our workdays. You’ll be missed by many but have left more than your weight in memories. Thank you. God speed and God be with your family and friends during these tough times. So grateful to have known you. Cyndy Romano, Z-22

Cindy & Eric I am so very sorry for your loss. Jeff was the life of the party. When he walked in the room you knew you were going to laugh. He had more energy than a person should Be allowed. I am going to miss that crazy personality of his. Please except my sincerest condolence during this difficult time .sending prayers & Hugs . May he rest peacefully.

  • I had the great privilege to be hosted by Jeff and Cindy a few years back. I met their son, Eric, while he was traveling throughout Ireland and the Nyberg family graciously let me stay for a few weeks while I was experiencing that part of the world.

During my stay I was treated as part of the family, with Jeff constantly firing up the grill and cooking some mouthwatering steaks amongst other culinary delights.

I had the great honour to share (more than one!) beers with Jeff and hear his myriad tales of adventure and misadventure. Himself and Eric even showed me a trick or two about playing darts. I remember being mightily impressed with his collection of sports trophies that ringed the entire garage wall.

My greatest regret is that I won’t be able to recreate those times again but he can rest easy in the knowledge that he was loved and greatly admired by his family friends, a feat we all would do well to envy.

  • Jody McCarron says:

The news was shocking and sad to us here in Nevada. Have known Jeff and Cindy for a very long time. Jeff was my back rub buddy. Always a back rub when I saw him… me giving him one lol. Darts, golfing, and of course just frequenting some of the Kenosha watering holes. Kevin and I are sending love and hugs to Cindy and the family. He will be missed greatly.
