Janice M. Van Caster, age 86, a resident of Kenosha, passed away Thursday October 22nd 2015 at Grande Prairie Health and Rehab in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on May 8th, 1929 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of George and Fannie (Hakala) Petersen. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and on July 31, 1948, she was united in marriage with Richard Van Caster. They settled in Kenosha and raised three children together.
Janice was a licensed insurance agent who worked for many different agencies locally. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church and formerly an active 50 year member of Eastern Star. Janice was an avid sports fan and she and her husband loved to watch sports together, most notably the Cubs, the Brewers and the Packers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Richard of Kenosha and by her two beloved sons, Jeff (Debbie) Van Caster of Conover Wisconsin and Thomas (Aaron Galley) Van Caster of Kenosha. In addition, Janice is survived by her seven grandchildren, Kristen (Jeff) Shenk, Joe (Karisa) Van Caster, Bryanna Van Caster, Shandon (David) Price, Erika Elmblad, Emily Elmblad and Elise Elmblad, by her three great grandchildren, Owen, Avery and Eastan Shenk and by her son-in-law David Elmblad.
Preceding Janice in death were her parents and her beautiful daughter Susan Elmblad.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 29th 2015 at 11:00AM at First Presbyterian Church in Kenosha. (1803-83rd Street) Visitation with the family will be on Thursday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will take place at a later date.
