Janice Lindsey-Mendez, age 58, a resident of Kenosha, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center. Janice was born in Kenosha on August 12th, 1957 to Lenial and Virginia (Neels) Lindsey and was educated in local schools.
Janice was an exceptional mother, loving wife, caring grandmother, beautiful sister, and loyal friend.
On March 17th, 2001, Janice was united in marriage with Javier Mendez. Janice was a happy and motivated person and her outgoing personality and beautiful smile made her liked by all.
She worked in the restaurant, banking and insurance fields successfully through the years. She loved cooking, crafting, Mariachi music and taking care of her beautiful garden. Family and friends loved to sit with her and share a cup of coffee in this cozy spot. Janice’s annual English Tea Party in her rose filled garden was the highlight of many people’s year.
She was a caring and compassionate woman who adored her children and granddaughter and she was the primary caretaker for her brother Larry.
Janice is survived by her loving husband Javier of Kenosha and by her daughters, Soila (Russell) Lopez-Guerra and Sara (David Kless) Lopez and her granddaughter Lena Lopez. She was also survived by her brothers Lawrence Woloszynek and Wayne (Joleen) Rongholt, her mother-figure Patricia Cholak and “grand-dog” Pongo.
A celebration of Janice’s life will take place on Monday January 4th, 2016 at 6:30PM at Journey Church (10700-75th Street) with Pastor Dan Remus officiating. A time for visiting with the family will be held on Monday at Journey Church from 5:30PM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
