RACINE—Jane W. Schneider, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 13, 2012. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on June 12, 1925, to the late Peter and Helen (Holman) Wiersum. She graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1943 and worked for the U.S. Selective Service Board during World War II. Jane was a life-long member of Racine Bible Church and participated in the children’s ministries of the church. She took an active interest in Koinonia Missionary Fellowship which carries out a ministry of evangelism and church planting in Romania.
She married Edward B. Falk on November 28, 1946 who died in 1966. On June 20, 1969, she married James L. Schneider who preceded her in death on July 21, 2011. She is survived by three children, Jonathan (Margaret) Falk, Jane (Kirk) Freeman, and Cristian (Anne) Barbosu of Arad, Romania; grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Falk, Katherine (Timothy) Coughlin, Emily Falk, Charissa (David) Osborn, Jonathan Freeman, Fiona, Tara and Eden Barbosu; and great-grandsons Cole Falk and Elias Coughlin, and great-granddaughter Emily K. Falk. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Stewart. Jane is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. She will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord, her family, and her great capacity for friendship.
A memorial service will be held at Racine Bible Church, 12505 Spring St., Sturtevant, on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Spencer DeBurgh officiating. A private internment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Koinonia Missionary Fellowship, P.O. Box 085686, Racine, WI 53408 or to Racine Bible Church, designated for Koinonia Missionary Fellowship.
