James R. Strupp, Jr. (1946-2019)

James (“Jim”) Robert Strupp, Jr passed away peacefully, Monday, November 18, 2019, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House, with his wife by his side. Jim was born to the late James Robert and Jean (Tomlinson) Strupp in Kenosha on December 10, 1946. Jim graduated from Bradford High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1972. His tour took him to Germany, Italy, and Viet Nam and as a Standby Reserve before he was Honorably Discharged.

               On April 28, 1973, he married Debra Vassh from Racine. They later divorced. On July 2, 1995, he married Donna Gordon from Kenosha.

                Jim worked at Snap-On Tools in Kenosha; he was in auto sales in Racine, California and Kenosha. He spent many years in inside and outside sales, specialty being pipe, valves, and fittings, working in California, Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. He worked as a Ranger at Petrifying Springs Golf Course. He played baseball in Italy when he was in the Army and in Kenosha for several local baseball teams. He loved playing golf with his Dad, his brothers and friends, including his best friend, Buzz. He was an avid Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and Chicago Cubs fan.

                Jim is survived by his wife, Donna, his daughter Stacie (Chris) Johnson, Whidbey Island, Washington; his grandchildren Ayden and Roman; his sister Barbara (Dave) Wade and brother, William (Linda) Strupp both from Kenosha and his brother Jack Strupp from Grand Rapids, Michigan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

                Thank you to Dr. Bloom, Dr. Mirza, Dr. Pulla; the staff, nurses, and “Angels” at Hospice Alliance for the excellent care, compassion and dignity given to Jim. The Kenosha Fire Dept and staff. Also a special thank you to the Chaplin, Charlie for his compassion and support and to Steve and Casey Family Options, for their excellent service, compassion and support. Most of all Thank You to our family and friends who have been and continue to be so supportive and caring during this sad time. We love you all.

               

          A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 30, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Kenosha Woman’s Club. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the Woman’s Club from 9:30AM until the time of services.

          In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.

    A very nice guy and a friend for many years. He played Basball with my husband. We had some good times. He has a wonderful wife, Donna, who is a dear friend. They were a happy couple. God Bless them and the family.
