Helen Clare Finkler, age 84, of Kenosha, passed away on November 10th, 2025. She was born on August 5, 1941, in Kenosha, to the late Lawrence and Alexandria (Miller) Finkler. She attended St. Mark’s Grade School, St. Joseph’s High School and later Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee.
Helen loved being active in every community she called home—including Kenosha, Deerfield, and Chicago. Faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she remained deeply involved in both Holy Cross Parish in Deerfield and St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Kenosha.
A devoted Chicago sports fan, she faithfully followed both the Cubs and the Bears, tracking their records with pride and passion season after season. She also enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Helen was an avid traveler. During her years as a teacher in Winnetka, IL, she spent summers on extended educational journeys across the country. Later, she continued her adventures with her sisters, proudly visiting all 50 states and exploring many countries abroad.
In her later years, Helen had a knack for getting a deal and never passed up a freebie. Whether it was a coupon, a giveaway, or a surprise discount, she delighted in sharing her finds with others—always generous, always thoughtful.
Helen is survived by her niece and nephew: Roberta L. Finkler and Lawrence A. (Jennifer) Finkler, great nieces and nephews: Josiah T., Noah J., Alexandria S., Isabella E., and Coralie R. all of Pleasant Prairie, and a sister-in-law, Sherry Finkler of Fitchburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Thomas L., Frances L, and Florence D. Finkler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (7117 14th Ave) on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11 A.M. A visitation will also be held at church from 10 A.M. until the time of the service. Private inurnment at St. James Catholic Cemetery will immediately follow the services.
Memorial remembrances may be sent to St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
