Eugene “Butch” Schulz

Eugene “Butch” Schulz, age 82, of Yorkville, WI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, daughters, and son-in-law on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Butch was born in Burlington, WI on January 26, 1942, the son of late George Schulz and Ruby (nee: Meyer) Schulz.   On July 22, 1967 he married Linda Ruhle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha.

He graduated from Westosha High School, formerly Salem Central, in 1960.  After graduating he joined the Army National Guard before attending Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI where he received his Bachelors degree in Accounting.

He spent his 60 + year career in various finance positions.  After working as an Accounting Auditor at Hammill and Company in Racine, he was employed by the City of Kenosha as the Comptroller and Finance Director for 13 years before pursuing a career in Public Finance at Clayton Brown and Associates, US Bank and finally at Piper Sandler where he was still employed at the time of his death.

He enjoyed countless vacations over the years with his family and life-long friends Nick and Rita Arnold.  He enjoyed spending time in the summer at his cottage in Door County, was an avid bird watcher, and Green Bay Packer fan.  He built many wood duck houses that were placed on the pond in his backyard, fed the hummingbirds and orioles, and kept track of the arrival of different types of birds every year.  During football season the family was always welcome to come over and eat chili while watching the Packers.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Art, Doris, Robert, Caryl, Lyle, Lorraine, Russel, Ralph, Marilyn, Gerald, and Kenneth and in-laws Joe and Opal Ruhle.  He is survived by his wife, Linda and children  Kari (John) Andreoli of Yorkville, WI  and Denise (Jamie) of Kenosha, WI.  He is further survived by grandchildren Jared (Ashley) Andreoli of Milwaukee, WI, Khloe (Michael) Lory of Union Grove, WI, Brendan Farmer of Union Grove, WI and Mallory Farmer of Kenosha, WI, and great-grandchildren Jack and Marlowe with two more due this year.  He is also survived by brothers, Myron (Lois) of Grafton, WI and Glenn (Gloria) of Jackson, Mississippi.

From the Schulz family farm in Western Kenosha County to Wall Street, our dearest Uncle Butch shared his lifetime of high-achievment with his loving family and the people of Southeastern Wisconsin. Butch and my father Mort (Myron) with their brother Fotch (Glen) are the last of a family of 14. Born to George and Ruby (nee Meyer), parents born in 1896 and 1897, respectively, this Schulz Family in Wisconsin spans over 3 different centuries for 2 generations. Butch’s legacy shines bright with his treasured daughters Kari and Denise and their families. He and Aunt Linda have cherished them all as the light of their lives. All of Uncle Butch’s Family and friends and colleagues join in saluting a life well lived. To Aunt Linda, Cousin Kari and Cousin Denise, Du bist in dieser schweren Zeit nicht alleine. You are not alone. We send our love, Patricia Schulz with Gary George
