Elvira “Ellie” Orth (Klausch)

Elvira “Ellie” Orth (Klausch), age 71, lifelong resident of Kenosha, passed away on March 5th ,

2026, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon, WI. She was born on October 26th, 1954, in

Kenosha to the late Erwin and Hedwig (Grieger) Klausch. She attended local schools

and graduated from Bradford High School in 1972. She later attended UW Parkside and

graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history. On August 3rd, 1979, she married Donald

Orth in Kenosha. The two spent many happy years together before Donald’s death in

2020.

Elvira loved world history and studying her own family’s heritage. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She loved the holidays with her family and baking Christmas cookies with her sister Angie. Family was always first to Elvira and her greatest joy in life was raising her son and spending time with her Grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Andrew (Jennifer) Orth, grandchildren: Hannah and Jacob, sister: Angelika “Angie” Klausch, sister-in-laws: Peggy Klausch and Diana Klausch, Aunt Erika Savaglio, Donald J. Orth and family and Catherine Orth. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Orth, and brothers: Joel and Ronald.

As per Elvira’s wishes, services will be held privately at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s

Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.

    To the Orth family. So very sorry for the loss of your mom. I remember a while back there was an article in the Kenosha News of her and Don hosting Carthage College students at their home. Such a kind thing to do! Don and Ellie were wonderful neighbors, friendly, good people that will be missed.
