Elin G. Lansdown (1953-2013)

Elin G Lansdown, 60, of Kenosha passed away Thursday August 15, 2013, at home with her loving husband by her side.  Elin was born on March 22, 1953, in Reykjavik, Iceland.  The daughter of Jon Arnason and Steinunn Friðriksdottir.  Elin married Thomas R. Lansdown on October 21, 1972 in Kenosha, WI.

 

Elin was an accomplished Pointalism artist, avid reader, designer / seamstress, baker, and cake designer.  Most of all, Elin spent her days with her four grandchildren.

 

Elin is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, Steinunn (Mark) Seay and Stella Brennan; grandchildren, Elin, Thomas, Emily, and Audrey; mother, Steinunn Friðriksdottir; her brothers, Arni Frimann Jonsson, Jon Steinar Jonsson; her sister Astridur Jonsdottir; she was preceeded in death by her father; Jon Arnason; her brother Fridrik Jonsson.

Elin fought a brief, unexpected, yet courageous weeks long battle with cancer.  Her passing has been devastating to her family and all that knew her.  Elin believed that life was about celebration and requested that no public service be held to mourn.  The family asks that you visit www.elinsworld.com to share your memories and stories.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.

  • Elin was a strong, beautiful woman. She was a wonderful wife and mother and loved all her family with all her heart. Her spirit was also evident in her art and the way she courageously lived her life.
