Elaine Claire (Hegeman) Kohl, passed away April 28, 2012 at Lincoln Village in Racine.
Born in Racine on December 26, 1919 to Ida B. (Herman) and Edward P. Hegeman.
Elaine was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, Class of 1937. She worked at Hamilton Beach and S.C. Johnson before raising her family. She last worked in 1978 as Manager of Westgate Polyclean.
Above all Elaine loved to play pinochle with her mom and brothers, then later with her children, and nephew. Elaine was an avid Packer fan and golf enthusiast, and looked forward to gardening every summer. She was a very independent woman, living alone in her home until March 2012.
Elaine is survived by three children; Rich (Lesley) Johnson, Randall (Karen) Kohl, and Cheryl (Keith) Heck; nine grandchildren Michele Kirk, Nicole (Mike) Meteyard, Matthew (Bonnie) Heck, Andrew (Mandi) Heck, Lisa (Steve) Filtz, Lori (Andre) Antressian, Erika Johnson, Dan (Kim) Fraid, John Fraid; and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special nephew and wife, Gary (Sandy) Hegeman, and two dear sisters-in-law Mary Hintz and Oweta Hegeman.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Edward, Richard and Louis.
Memorials suggested to St. Catherine’s High School or the VFW.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
