Elaine Grobe (1925 – 2011)

Elaine M Grobe, age 86, a resident of Kenosha, passed away Monday November 21, 2011 at Wynwood Brookdale Senior Living.

Elaine was born on September 4, 1925 in Racine WI. She was the daughter of the late James and Sophie (Steffanus) Buelow. Elaine was educated in the schools of Racine.

On October 31, 1942 she married Byron Grobe. Elaine was a homemaker and a long time member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. She was very involved in Christian Mothers. Elaine enjoyed cross word puzzles, crocheting and gardening. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Elaine is survived by her husband Byron of Kenosha, sons James (Tsuyako) Grobe of Hercules CA and Jerome (Morgan) Grobe of Pounce De Leon MO and daughters Nancy (Gerald) Davis of Kenosha, Jeannie (George) Vaughn of Adams WI, Connie Grobe and Cynthia (Timothy) Hamelink of Kenosha. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother Ralph Buelow of Racine and two sisters Ina Mae (Lee) Gerber of MI and Georgelene Thielen of Racine WI.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Richard.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 26 at 10:30AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. (7117 14th Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00AM until the time of Mass. Entombment will take place at All Saints Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance, St. Marks Catholic Church or the Kenosha Achievement Center would be appreciated.
