Thoughts for Edward Gyurina;

  • Carol Wawrzyniak says:

Dad you were the bestest, funniest and least threatening (Mom would always say wait to your dad comes home when we were in trouble). We never were worried. He was the gentlest soul on earth. Give Mom and Rick a hug from me.

  • Dad, loved your one line jokes that you made up in your head, you were the best father, grandfather and great grandfather that anyone could have, say hi to mom and Ricky in heaven for us.

  • Keep telling your Dad jokes in Heaven. I will miss you but I know you are finally happy again with Mom. Please give Mom a hug and kiss from me. Love you Dad💙

  • Nan Bejino (sister-in-law) says:

Nan (Marion’s sister) and Jack remember all the good times they shared at their cabin in Wyoming with Ed & Marion and Mom & Dad Sorenson. We also miss his sense of humor and great laugh. We’re so glad that he and Marion can be together again. Love Nan & Jack

  • Gregg Gyurina says:

We will miss our weekly phone calls to remind you of the Packer games and our conversations remembering Petey Gaga. Also your hilarious jokes. We love and miss you, Dad.

  • Breanne Adams says:

Grandpa you will be missed. I will miss the Petey Gaga stories, you reading Chicken Soup with rice to me for many years and then I reading to you. I think I even had it memorized at one point. Even in a November when I last saw you we talked about it and I told you I now read it to Landen. We love and miss you.

  • Love and miss you grandpa. I’m so glad I got to see you this last summer. We talked about Petey and loved hearing your jokes. You were very excited when I got to come to see. We watch the Olympics and you were very amazed how long the water polo players could tread water so long and we even had to look up how deep the pool was for you.

  • Otto & Bettie Wawrzyniak says:

Ed, you were a perfect example for everyone to see how to live life. The last time we saw you, you had that familiar smile on and you were enjoying being with everyone. That is how we will remember you. You left a legacy behind with your beautiful family. I know Marion and Rick were there to pull you up and when we look up to the heavens we will know all of you are safe in the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the father God. Give Rick a hug for us.

  • Eddy, as we called him, was probably the kindest, most thoughtful man I ever knew. His patience, sense of humor and wisdom made him an excellent counsel. I don’t believe he thought ill of anyone, embodying an everyman saintliness that he shared freely. Everyone loved Eddy because he had love for everyone.

  • Alisa Ruffolo/ Taleronik says:

Rest easy Mr Gyurina , it was a pleasure growing up in the neighborhood with such great people like you and Marion , and now I guess you and the rest of the neighbors can have a big coffee clutch together and catch up… please send my love to my parents and the rest of the 10 th Avenue gang up there in Heaven… you will be remembered with for that Smile of your for sure!

  • Dad – I can only aspire to live a life comparable to yours. Maybe the next one! Almost every hour of your life was dedicated to the family – up at 5:30 – home at 6:45 – every single day for 35 years. And then the Saturdays at St. Anthony’s – cleaning up after all the students and Gyurina kids with his brother John. Just to bring in a few extra bucks for “the kids”.

And it didn’t stop after retirement. Extra time with the grandkids and the volunteer activities. Unbelievable.

Fast Eddie – you are my idol. Will miss you and love you forever.

  • Cathy Gyurina says:

My father-in-law Ed Gyurina was truly one of the nicest guys I have ever met.
His winning smile , his corny jokes and his playfulness with both his kids, grandkids and great grandkids was endearing. Ed’s love and devotion to his wife, Marion was to be admired. As well as his volunteer services to his community.
What wonderful traits he has modeled for his family and their families and for all of us. We will miss you Ed. With much love .

  • Dad,
You will be missed. I know this past year you wanted to be with mom. I hope you two are smiling knowing you are together.
You always had a joke and made us laugh all the time. Memories will always be in my heart, especially Christmas. I knew that is why I love that time of the year. ❤️
Till we meet again! Love, Sharon

  • Karen and Joan Barter says:

My Uncle Ed will always live in my heart as one of the kindest men…as a child I only knew him to be thoughtful, funny, and smiling. His love for my Aunti Marion was evident every time I was with them, a great role model. Very lucky to have Uncle Ed’s influence in my life. Although my mom, Marion’s sister (Joan Barter) has dementia, she remembers Ed with fondness and said to me, “He was a wonderful man.” Our world was so blessed to have Uncle Ed’s goodness for so long, wishing it was a bit longer. Love to all my cousins…and your Aunti Joan says “love you” to all of you.
