Domenick Martinelli, age 88 a resident of Kenosha died Saturday February 8th 2014 at his residence.
Domenick was born February 5, 1926 to the late Pasquale and Angela (Nardulli) Martinelli in Mola di Bari, Italy where he spent his early life. He served in the Italian Navy and the Merchant Marines until he came to America in 1948.
On April 11, 1953 he married Maria “Mary” (Aulozzi) Martinelli. Domenick worked at the American Brass Company for 47 years, until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, making Kenosha’s best homemade Zinfandel wine, discussing current events and spending time in his workshop.
Domenick is survived by his wife Mary; his children Pasquale “Pat” (Teresa) Martinelli, Angela (Louis Wischmann) Burroughs of Odessa, Florida, and Domenick (Diane) Martinelli, and by his grandchildren Mario (Rachel) Burroughs of New Port Richie, Florida, Kathryn “Katy” (Booker) Scott of Racine, Dominic Martinelli, Pasquale “Vinny” Martinelli, Gina Martinelli and Angelo Martinelli as well as his great grandchild Jason. He is further survived by his sisters Pasquelina (Giovanni Fanizza) Martinelli and Maria (Peppino) Beradi of Mola di Bari and his brother Frank (Cecelia) Martinelli of Kenosha.
He was preceded in death by his sister Rosa, his father Pasquale, his mother Angela and his beloved dogs Buddy and Lady.
A memorial mass for Domenick will be held on Saturday February 15th 2014 at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Kenosha. (1919-54 street) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the church from 10:30AM until the time of mass. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Kenosha Humane Society would be appreciated.
