Deloris Hartnell

Deloris Joyce Hartnell, age 92, of Salem, died November 25, 2017 at St. Catherine’s Medical Center.

          Deloris was born February 14, 1925 in Bell Center Wisconsin to Harvey N. and Anna A. (Zajicek) Campbell. She attended grade school in Bell Center and graduated from Gays Mills High School. She continued her education at Great Lakes Bible School in Zion Illinois and at Dodge County Normal School in Mayville. Deloris taught for two years at Oakdale Elementary School in New Munster. On August 27, 1949 she married Richard F. Hartnell and they were blessed with six children. Together they ran a family farm until 1972.

Deloris was a 4-H member and leader. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years at Journey Church. She enjoyed baking, canning, quilting, crocheting and gardening. She loved to host hayrides for the families at her beloved Journey Church. She was kind and generous and was always quick to be of service to others.

She is survived by five sons; Lyn (Tammy) Hartnell of Corinth, MS, Gary (Kathy) Hartnell of St. Peters, MO, Steve (Teresa) Hartnell of Kenosha, WI, Phil (Kim) Hartnell of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Dean (Megan) Hartnell) of Tampa, FL; one daughter Kay (Murray) Jackson of Kenosha, WI; and by 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother DuWain (Joan) Campbell Great Falls, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Frank Campbell, Lyle Campbell, Hallis Campbell and sisters Velma Campbell, Ona Heuser and Violet Hackbarth.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday December 2, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Journey Church. (10700-75th Street) Visitation will take place at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial park.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated with charities to be designated at a later date.
