David “Dave” John Leto

Dave Leto was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, humor, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Dave was the beloved son of Robert and Marilyn (Mylnarek) Leto. He was raised in a loving home and educated at St. Mary’s Catholic School and Tremper High School.  Dave was united in marriage to his wife Guadalupe in 2012.

Dave dedicated more than 43 years of his life to Kenosha Beef/Birchwood Foods, where he was known for his hard work and dedication.

Outside of work, Dave found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved playing softball and bowling, took great pride in his yard and garden, and was a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He especially enjoyed relaxing on the patio with family and friends, often with a glass of Crown Royal in hand.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Nancy (Leto) Easton and Diane (Leto) Sutcliffe ; and his niece, Katrina (Leto) Ochranek.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Guadalupe; his children, Kristin (Mike), David (Natasha), Diane; his step-sons, Cesar, Luis, and Oscar; and his grandchildren, Michael, Sam and Henry Monday, and Lucy and Louis Leto. He is also survived by his brother Robert Leto, sister Kathy O’Neal (Brian), and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. David Knight, Heidi Capodarco, APNP, and the compassionate staff at Froedtert South Infusion Center for their exceptional care and support.

Dave’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 at Kemper Center Founders Hall (6501 3rd, Ave Kenosha) Visitation with the family beginning at 5:00pm and service to follow at 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support the family at this time.

Thoughts for David “Dave” John Leto;

  • I hadn’t seen Dave in a while because of his illness. I wanted to call him yesterday, (Sept.26th), I couldn’t find his phone number in my paper heap so I went online. The first thing I saw was his obituary, and was was hit with an incredible shock as I had no notion that he had passed away.

    I have been blessed in my life with meeting some great people and Dave is very high on the list. Warmth, humor, and kindness is exactly right.
    I will miss you a lot kiddo, but we will meet again on the other side for eternity. Thank you for your unwavering friendship.
