Bernard Leo Johnson, age 84 a resident of Kenosha, died Saturday December 30th 2012 in the United Hospital Systems ER.
Born on March 5th 1928 he was the son of the late Martin and Anna Johnson.
He served in the US Navy.
In May of 1950 he married Ida Graziano in Winthrop Harbor IL.
For 27 years, he was employed as a Firefighter for the City of Kenosha. He also worked a second job at Vans Roofing. He was a member of Local #414.
He loved to hunt and especially fish. He played softball with the firefighters in city leagues. He was a strict father and loved his family very much.
He is survived by his wife Ida of Kenosha; two sons Marty (Kay) Johnson of Mukwonago WI, Dave “Smiley” Johnson of Kenosha; one daughter Laura (Brian) D’Angelo of Racine; and three grandchildren Julie, Andrew and Jessica. He is further survived by four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Hank, Gordon, Quintan and three sisters Mabel, Orbel and Pat.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday January 3rd 2013 at 7:00PM at the Kemper Center Founders Hall. (6501-3rd Avenue) Visitation with the family will be on Thursday in Founders Hall from 5:00PM until the time of services. Burial will take place on Friday at 12:00 noon at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.
