Ashley Martinson

Ashley Martinson’s smile brightly and boldly entered our lives October 18th, 1985 and on March 8th, 2022 her smile passed with her into eternal life.

She is survived by her beloved parents, Richard and Deanna Martinson; her fiancé, Erik Petersen her two sons, Richard (Ricky) and Axel; her sister, Dana Martinson (Christopher Tresik); her two nieces, Ryann and Anasophia; aunts, uncles, many close cousins and dear friends.

Ashley is preceded in death by her Grandma & Grandpa Bellomy, Grandma & Grandpa Martinson, Grandma Jeanie, and Papa Skippy. Her uncle(s) Leroy, Wally, & Jr Martinson, Gary David, and Goebal Bellomy. Her aunt(s) Peggy Pringle, Patsy Renchen, Susie Martinson and her special cousins Ryan & Travis Bellomy, Michael Martinson, Jr. and Alicia Thompson.

Ashley was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, WI. She attended local K.U.S.D schools and in 2004 she graduated from Reuther Central High School. For 20 years she held pride in serving the public at Kenosha’s local restaurant and retail establishments. This past year she took on the ultimate role of service, her most cherished position, a stay-at-home-mother to her sons, Ricky and Axel.

Some people have the ability to always see the beauty surrounding them and in others. Ashley was one of those people. She never ceased to acknowledge the beauty in people, even when they were at their worst. She always stopped to appreciate the sunset and to smell the roses! Ashley never shied away from an adventure that peaked her interest; however, she truly enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life. From cuddling with her sons, fishing with her fiancé, helping her nieces with their hair, craft projects, to a simple walk through the neighborhood, she paused and appreciated those moments. Ashley highly valued the simple pleasure of a conversation with a friend. She was consistently welcoming and available to lend an ear. Many felt comfortable talking to her about topics ranging from nothing in particular at all, to the meaning of life itself. If you were so lucky to discuss the meaning of life with her, you would know her meaning and purpose in life was family. Nothing made her smile shine brighter than having her family and friends together.

Whether you are able to join us for her service or not, we ask that you take a moment to honor Ashley by appreciating the beauty that surrounds you, the beauty in others and to smile while you enjoy life’s simplest pleasures.

Ashley’s infectious smile may be gone from our world but it will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 12:00, service at 12:00 and luncheon to follow on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 at The Point Church. Located at 900 Lewis Ave. Winthrop Harbor, IL.

When I think of Ashley, her smile is the very first thing that comes to mind. I was one of the lucky ones to have had the honor of having her in my life since we were kids. No matter the good or bad times we experienced together, I never doubted her loyalty. I have so many memories I can cherish and hold onto forever. My heart is so heavy, and my deepest condolences to her wonderful family. A family I often wished I had.
