9-28-19 an earthly angel spread her wings and soared to heaven. Antoinette (Tonie, Pinky) Katherine Young.
Her journey on earth started 3-3-61 and was the fourth child (and fourth daughter) of Maynard W. and Katherine M. Young. Her sisters are Roberta (Bobbie) Young Cross, Jacalyn (Jacky) Young and Jeralyn (Jerrie) Young Koch.
In 1978 mom and dad acquired a new addition to the family. A bouncing 6 ft. 189 lb. bouncing baby boy, Howard. He was (and still is) a great brother. He was Tonie’s date to Sadie Hawkins and Sr. prom.
Tonie was born and raised in Kenosha and attended local Catholic schools. St. Therese and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School. She enjoyed high school and made many friends. Her nick name in high school was Pinky due to the fact that she was always using her pink pearl eraser. She went on to Parkside and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
She lived most of her life in Kenosha until she decided to take a leap of faith and start a new life in Kissimmee Florida where she lived with our brother Howard.
While in Kenosha she worked for Roger and Marv’s Super Value for over 20 years and never called in sick. Not once! In Florida she continued working in the food service. She worked for Publix Grocery and for Wawa’s Convenient stores where, she continued her perfect attendance. She was the “go to person” if someone needed off or was sick. She was the “go to person” with her family also.
Tonie has a niece, Kim, and three nephews; Rob, Brandon and Stephen. She did everything with them when they were growing up. She would read to them, watch cartoons with them, play games, go to the movies. Well, you get the picture. She loved them and was like a second mom to them.
She enjoyed going on family vacations. She conveniently forgot her money when we would go to do something, so mom and dad would pay. I swear she came home with more money than when we left. Later on she enjoyed traveling with mom and Aunt Charlotte. We called them the three Amigos. Her last trip was 2 ½ years ago when she came home for her nephew Rob’s marriage to Lydia Marie.
Tonie enjoyed being home. She didn’t have to go out all the time. She was an avid reader and she loved to bake. She collected angels and loved reading about her Irish heritage.
Tonie was preceded in death by her mother and father and her oldest sister, Bobbie.
She is survived by sisters Jacky, Jerrie and honorary brother Howard. She is also survived by her niece Kim and nephews Rob (Lydia), Brandon and Stephen and one great niece Emma Marie and one great nephew Chris.
She had a heart of gold and would be there for you when you needed someone to lean on. She had a cute laugh that once you heart it you would never forget it.
She was well loved and will be missed. She touched the hearts of many and has left a lasting imprint on our lives.
Heavenly Angels, wrap your wings around her and welcome her home.

So sorry to hear that our world has lost a beautiful person.
I first met Tony at St. Theresa’s School. My mother Sharon Engelmann taught there. Gerene Mrs. Lucas introduced me to her,
She stated that Tony will be attending St.Joes
also. The summer went by to fast and I was really dreading going to St. Joes. All my friends since Kindergarten at St. Peter’s were to attend Bullen. As I stood in line for registration, I’ll never forget feeling of loneliness. Most of the freshman came from the same schools and already had their cliques.
Suddenly your sister taps me on the back and greeted me with a big “Hi, Georgianna, remember me?”
I thought to myself, she remembered my name, but I don’t remember hers. She had to have sensed my loneliness, she was by my side though out the day, introducing me to students she knew.
When school officially started for the next four years we remained friends. Then we graduated and went our separate paths.
Tonie was a better friend then any friend could ever be in return. When one felt that no one cared, Tonie was the go to person, because she always cared. I would tease her that she
I always thought she would make a good nun, and she laugh.
I honestly believe that if not had I met Tonie, I would have been a dropout. She had a loving heart and a caring soul. It’s awesome to learn she continued to her life as the person she truly was. I’m so sorry for the pain that’s present when we lose a love one.
Yet, I can understand why God called her home.
My deepest sympathy to you and to everyone who were blessed to have Tonie touch their lives.

Pinky was one of a kind, and was truly loved by many. I am so sorry to read and hear about her passing. She just missed our 40 year class reunion which I know she was so looking forward too.
She was memorialized at the reunion and will be sorely missed by many…
May she rest in peace and may her family and friends find Peace through this most difficult time.
