It is with great sadness that the family of Angela Petroshius announce her passing on November 7, 2025, age 44. Angela was born on December 2, 1980 and attended both St. Joseph and Waukegan High Schools, graduating in 1999. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, and pet-mom, and she touched the lives of so many people around her. She loved with all her heart.
Angela always tried to stay positive, even through her struggles. She had a huge heart and shared whatever resources she had to help friends in need. She loved Pride and other LGBTQ events, earning her the nickname “Rainbow Brite”. She also had a deep love for children and animals. Angela’s kindness and strength had a lasting impact, and we will miss her every day.
Angela is survived by her wifey, Julie Garland; mother, Kathy Petroshius; sister and sister-in-law, Kristen and Tonia Brock-Petroshius; nieces and nephew Amber, Ziona, and Tupac; and cat, Sunny Bunny. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Petroshius; grandparents, Lou Ellen and Robert Clark and Hazel and Lawrence Petroshius; and her dog-son Shadow.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at Bradford Community Church Unitarian Universalist, 5810 – 8th Ave, Kenosha, WI. The visitation will begin at 2pm with a service from 3-4pm. Reception to follow. The location is wheelchair accessible.

I met Angela a very long time ago. We met while working at Doheny. I was with her when she met Julie . She talked about her a lot. And then I had the pleasure of meeting Julie and we hit it off real fast. I consider Angela and Julie my sisters . We went thru so much. Angela and me have gone thru the whole cancer nightmare at the same time with the same dr. She was on remission and for me well I’m still fighting. She was a gentle soul and very very lovable . I was so sad and angry at the same time when I found out that she had passed. I was constantly messaging Julie trying to find out how she was. Because of my illness I was unable to go see her. And I’m mad at myself for not being able to go see her. 😞😞😞😞 I will miss her so much. But now I know that she is in peace and not suffering anymore pain. I live you sister, fly high.
