Agustin Cervantes

Agustin G. Cervantes passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 6th, 2015.

Agustin was born in San Pedro Michoacán, Mexico on December 8th 1954 to Rafael and Gema Cervantes. At the age of five he and his family moved to Mexico City where he was raised and educated. In his youth he became passionate about futbol and marathon running, but his education and work always came first. His ambitions and drive led him to the United States in 1976. Working various jobs he eventually found his calling working with the community at the Kenosha Achievement Center in 1982. He ultimately transitioned his talents and skills to the staffing industry where he became the division manager at Staffing Partners all the while maintaining his own translations business, Cervimex. He eventually retired in 2014. Throughout his career, his love for futbol inspired him to start his own soccer club, Kenosha Galaxy. He treated the members and associates of the club like family and played his part as a coach and a friend. He was also an avid fan of Chivas, Barcelona and Mexico, and watching the games with his sons and friends was his favorite past time.

Surviving are his sons, Marco (Karina) Cervantes, Carlo (Nicole) Cervantes, Rafael Munoz; his mother, Gema Cervantes; his sisters, Silvia Cervantes (Jose Luis Woo), Monica (Ruben) Gutierrez, Araceli (Francisco) Esquivel, Herendira Cervantes (Ruben Fernandez); his brothers, Rafael (Luisa) Cervantes, Antonio (Martha) Cervantes, Javier (Gabriela) Cervantes and numerous nieces and nephews.

Agustin was preceded in death by, his father Rafael Cervantes; his brother Jesus Cervantes; and his uncle Gregorio Gomez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, June 12th, 2015 at 6:00 PM at St. Mark Catholic Church (7117-14th Avenue). A time to greet the family will be held on Friday at the church from 4:00 PM until the time of the service.
