Yoshiko “Yoshi” Zimmerman age 64 a resident of Kenosha, passed away Thursday November 17, 2005 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee after a brief illness.
Yoshi was born on October 31, 1941in Gunma Japan. She was the daughter of Tejiro and Hisako Kushima. Yoshi met and married James Zimmerman at the US Embassy in Tokyo Japan on September 25, 1968. As a military wife she was privileged to live in various locations throughout the United States prior to settling in Kenosha in January 1979.
Yoshi was an outgoing, generous friend and dedicated, loving and hard working wife and mother. She reveled in her daily walks regardless of rain and snow. She also found pleasure in gardening, traveling, and most of all shopping. Yoshi was an active member of the Chicago Okinawa Kenjinkai. She also took on the role of babysitter throughout the years. Her warm heart and sense of humor will be sadly missed.
Yoshi is survived by her husband James, daughter Emily, and three brothers; Shizuo, Sadao and Toshiji.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kazuo and three sisters Asae, Munako and Keiko.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Yoshi will be held on Tuesday November 22, 2005 at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. (7307-40th Avenue) Visitation will be held on Monday November 21, 2005 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church Fireplace Room, (corner of 18th Avenue and 83rd Street) and again on Tuesday morning at St. Mary?s Catholic Church from 9:00AM until the time of mass.
Please omit flowers as the family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the family.
Burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery.
