William Robert Allen Jr., age 88, of Racine, passed away on September 14th, 2023, at his residence surrounded by family in Racine, WI. He was born in Racine to the late William Allen Sr. and Ella (Peterson) Allen on February 21st, 1935. He attended local schools and graduated from Park High School in 1958. In winter of 1962, he married Doris Krofta at First Presbyterian Church in Racine. He was married to Doris until her death in 2007. William loved doing crosswords, sudoku, model trains, taking great pride in his property, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He also took great pride in taking care of the property at First Reformed Lutheran Church on Old Spring Street in Mount Pleasant.
He is survived by his children: Dean (Karina) Allen, Anita Allen, Lisa (Brad) Liberty, grandchildren: Annalisa, Jarred, Sara, Sabrina, Clayton, Ava, great-grandchildren: Isabella, Ariana, Jaslene, and Lexi, sisters: Evelyn Graves, and Carol (Bob) Pwoser, and many other loving relatives and friends.
The family would like to especially thank Compasus Hospice for all their compassion and care for William.
As per Williams wishes, no services will be held.

My name is Karina Kroll, and I found myself fortunate enough to have Bill Allen as my father-in-law. I married his son, Dean Allen nearly twenty-four years ago. It’s hard to believe that he and Doris are both gone now. It’s the end of an era, that esteemed generation is passing. It’s difficult to understand, accept and come to terms with the loss.
Bill was a true patriarch, a touch stone for his entire family. Everyone flocked to his home for many years of holidays, celebrations, birthday parties, bonfires in the woods and his annual Father’s Day barbecue, which included my parents, Gerhard & Georgia Kroll, our children, my brothers and our Uncle Siegfried along with Bill’s children and their families. It’s as if he thought, “the more the merrier.”
Bill was a true gentleman, a kind and generous man with a great sense of humor until the very end. In his presence you always felt important, supported and appreciated. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Allen was a man who was always easy to talk to and enjoyable to listen to. I found him to be kind and unassuming. I didn’t see him very often but I always found myself gravitating toward him; I just had to say hello to Bill Allen on those occasions. I know the family misses him terribly. I see a lot of Bill Allen in Dean. What a lovely man was Mr. Allen.
