William “Bill” L. Howell, Sr. age 75, a resident of Union Grove, died Monday February 3rd, 2014 at his residence.
Bill was born July 9, 1938 in Milwaukee to the late Leonard and Emma (Schroeder) Howell. He served in the United States Air Force. On September 19, 1959 he was united in marriage with the former Estelle Frederick at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She preceded him in death.
Bill made his living as a dairy farmer. He was a member of the First Assembly Church in Union Grove. Bill loved to socialize and talk about current events and especially enjoyed spending time with his “Breakfast Buddies”.
Bill is survived by his four sons; William L. (Donna) Howell Jr. of Union Grove, Leonard (Sharon) Howell of Shawano, Edward (Jody) Howell of Union Grove and M/SGT Richard Howell of Las Vegas NV and his three daughters; Kelly (Nick) Willkomm of Union Grove, Lisa (Tom) Schmeckel of Whitewater and Mary (Jim) Spaight of Waterford. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; Christopher, Hope, Faith and Emma Howell, Emily (Keith) Kastenson, Nicholas and Nathan Willkomm, Lauren, Kristen, Caitlyn and Tommy (Laura) Schmeckel, Brittany, Jordan, Jonathon, Joseph, Julian and Brianna Howell, Logan and Ethan Howell and Madeline, Olivia and John Spaight and three great grandchildren; Wesley Kastenson, Dylan Schmeckel and Elliott Schmeckel. Bill is further survived by his two sisters Barbara (Ronald) Schuler of Madison and Betty (Robert) Schultz of Milwaukee and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Estelle, his parents, his stepmother Lena Howell, his stepmother Billie Howell and his stepfather Lester Biehn. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Frank Olczewski, James Frederick, William Spear, Bill Michel and Charles Fliess and by his sisters-in-law Kathleen Kraft and Sylvia Frederick.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 8th 2014 at 4:00 PM at the First Assembly of God Church in Union Grove. (1845-Main Street Union Grove WI, 53182) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the church from 1:30PM until the time of services. Burial will take place on Tuesday February 11th 2014 at 2:00PM at Southern WI Veterans Cemetery.
